Returns and Refunds

At Zyrallexgriz, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of our handcrafted aromatic candles. Our return and refund policy complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, ensuring your rights as a New Zealand consumer are protected.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we offer returns and refunds in accordance with New Zealand consumer protection laws. Our policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and compliant with all applicable New Zealand regulations.

Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return under our policy for our handcrafted aromatic candles, your item must be:

  • Unused and in its original condition - candles must not have been burned or lit
  • In the original packaging with all components included, including the glass container and any packaging materials
  • Returned within 14 days of delivery (or longer if required by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993)
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation from our New Zealand business)

Under New Zealand consumer law, you may have additional rights if a candle is faulty, not as described, or does not meet acceptable quality standards, regardless of the 14-day period. This includes issues such as candles that don't burn properly, wicks that are incorrectly placed, or fragrances that don't match their description.

Return Process

To initiate a return, please contact us at info@zyrallexgriz.world with your order details. We will provide you with return instructions and a return authorization number.

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it and notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Refunds

If your return is approved, we will process your refund within 5-10 business days. The refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a defective product.

Damaged or Defective Products

If you receive a damaged or defective handcrafted candle from our Paeroa workshop, please contact us immediately at info@zyrallexgriz.world or +64273190808. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you are entitled to a remedy if goods are not of acceptable quality. This includes candles that arrive broken, have manufacturing defects, don't burn properly, or have wick placement issues.

We will arrange for a replacement candle, repair (if possible), or full refund at your choice, including return shipping costs within New Zealand, in accordance with New Zealand consumer protection laws. As a New Zealand-based artisan business, we stand behind the quality of our handcrafted aromatic candles.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned under our standard return policy:

  • Candles that have been burned, lit, or used - once a candle has been lit, it cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons
  • Items damaged due to misuse, improper storage, or normal wear - our handcrafted candles should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Items returned without original packaging - our candles must be returned in their original New Zealand-made packaging for safety during transit
  • Items returned after the 14-day return period, unless required by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
  • Candles purchased as final sale or clearance items, which will be clearly marked

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a defective product. We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance.

Exchanges

We currently do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item and place a new order for the desired product.

Consumer Rights

As a New Zealand consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If a product fails to meet acceptable quality standards, is not fit for purpose, or does not match its description, you may be entitled to a remedy even outside our standard return period. We are committed to honoring these legal protections.
